Don’t you just love breakfast? This Sunday, as its Mother’s day, I get to make the most of a rare and very short lived opportunity to be waited on – normally in our house that means breakfast in bed. So this pear smoothie is will be part of my breakfast menu request.
It will sit nicely between a fresh lemon juice drink on waking (1st course), and buckwheat pancakes mid morning (3rd course). That’s probably about as far as I can stretch the being waited on thing, but its always nice while it lasts!
Pears are such a beautiful fruit – so sweet and mellow. Combined with the rich avocado and the alkalizing lime, this smoothie feels naturally healing – it’s the one I make for the kids (well, actually teenagers now) when they’re unwell. Definitely a smoothie to nourish the body and soul.
