Healthy Chocolate Smoothie

This healthy chocolate smoothie is divine. It’s creamy, rich, and satisfyingly chocolatey but with a lightness that makes you feel weirdly virtuous. I say weirdly because chocolate and virtuous aren’t two words you’d normally put together, but with this smoothie you really can satisfy a chocolate craving and at the same time feel like you’ve treated your body to a dose of something nutritious.

If you leave the smoothie in the fridge it firms up, and becomes pretty mousse-like. So that’s what I do when I get the urge for a last minute/ no cook chocolatey dessert.  Super easy and delicious!

Healthy Chocolate Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 medium banana
  • ½ avocado
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 4 pitted dates
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)

Method

Makes 1 glass

Place all the ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.
